Surrey Interior Designer!
We are thrilled to share with you our recently finished commercial space, a retail addition owned by The Grantley Group.
The brief was not your regular shop design, The Grantley Group deals with the selling and renting of the high end property market in Surrey. They have recently relaunched and rebranded and this new premises is very much the start of their new customer experience. Although the space is a busy, hard working office, the client also wanted customers to feel like they were entering a cosy, inviting living room. Where they could comfortably relax, browse through brochures and discuss their needs and requirements with The Grantley’s staff.
The new branding colour palette was our starting point and then we explored how we could weave this palette into our design scheme.
The first area you are faced with from outside and in was this large flat, white wall with a door right in the middle along the back of the premises. This was the first area we considered in the design. It became clear that we needed to add texture and drama to this very focal wall and we achieved this with a panelling design, that incorporated the central door and used the striking brand colour.
The floor was changed to a LVT in a wide planks, laid on the diagonal to work with the layout of the space.
Zoning the space was essential to achieving this multifunctional office. The living area focal point was our bespoke, designed bookcase, which is beautifully backlit. This not only draws the eye and softens the design with the warm lighting, but offers a practical area for storage and decorative additions and brochures. We also added a large, taped rug to this zone, again to anchor the space and to help with noise reduction. Then table lamps, plants and accessories were added to cement the finish aesthetics.
In the office zone, rather than adding multiple small desks that can look messy and cluttered, we opted for one large table which is divided up into four seperate work stations. This is a much cleaner look and the reclaimed table top ties in with the floor and brings warmth and interest to the space. Pendant lights are positioned above for practical task lighting and to visually anchor the zone, and vintage style office chairs were added to tie in with the reclaimed, rustic appeal.
We will be continuing to work with The Grantley Group as we weave their rebranding into further commercial spaces and we look forward to sharing with you the next part of the journey.
