At the same time, we consider style influences, design aspirations, and budgets, ensuring that beauty and practicality align seamlessly. For existing spaces, this step includes a meticulous site survey: we capture every detail, from electrical points and window heights to inventory and layout. For new builds, we carefully log the items transitioning into your new environment, ensuring no element is overlooked.

Step 2
Layouts & Conceptual Design
At this exciting stage, ideas begin to take form through detailed Layouts and Conceptual Design.
With the insights gathered, we create detailed 2D floorplans and conceptual designs that bring clarity to flow, function, and aesthetics — the foundation for a space that works beautifully and feels extraordinary.
We are fuelled by the excitement of new creative possibilities, embracing innovation to continually elevate our designs. Every project is approached with a fresh perspective, ensuring that your space reflects a unique vision tailored to how you live, work, or welcome others.
Our attention to detail goes beyond the obvious: from kitchen layouts and integrated technology to where a team collaborates best or even where the family dog rests, we design with both precision and imagination.
Conceptual boards are developed for each space, capturing design intent, mood, and materiality — a visual story of how beauty and practicality will come together.
Step 3
Design Direction Meeting
This stage marks the first unveiling of everything we’ve discovered and envisioned for your project.
We present the full layout and design direction, walking you through the complete vision for your home or commercial space before diving into the finer details of each area.
Together, we explore spatial planning, conceptual boards, and the creative ideas driving our design choices. It’s an inspiring and collaborative session — the moment where your project begins to feel real.
Over the following week, you’ll have the opportunity to review every detail. Once you’ve gathered your thoughts, we speak again to collect feedback, answer questions, and refine the design where needed.
This process ensures that your voice remains central, shaping a design that is authentic, intentional, and uniquely yours.
Step 4
Design Details
This stage is all about the details — the point where vision turns into a fully realised plan.
At SP Interiors, we refine every layer of your project by selecting internal finishes and Structural Interior Design (SID) elements with care and precision. From flooring layouts and wall treatments to lighting and electrical plans, heating systems, kitchens, and bathrooms, we go far beyond the surface, capturing every nuance that brings a design to life.
These meticulous drawings and specifications are not just about aesthetics; they form the very foundation of a successful build. By detailing every element, we empower contractors with precise instructions, ensuring accurate quotes, streamlined construction, and fewer errors on site. Joinery
Bespoke joinery transforms a space, elevating it from beautiful to truly exceptional.
At SP Interiors, we design everything from kitchens, boot rooms, and dressing rooms to libraries, and built-in storage. These elements are not only highly functional but also add depth, character, and a sense of craftsmanship that defines a luxury interior.
This stage begins with a simple check-in, where we share our proposed joinery options with you. It’s an opportunity to review how each element will enhance your space and bring long-term value to your daily life. As joinery represents a significant investment, we also revisit budgets at this point, ensuring your choices align with the overall vision and priorities of the project.
Once direction is agreed, we create comprehensive joinery packs that include detailed elevations, material specifications, and 3D visuals. These documents allow you to clearly see and understand the finished results before a single piece is crafted. For contractors, they provide precise technical guidance, ensuring that what is built on site matches the design intent exactly.

Step 6
The Presentation
The Presentation stage is the point where your project truly comes to life.
At this stage, we present the design boards for each space alongside physical samples, detailed drawing packages, and costings for all Structural Interior Design (SID) elements.
So, what exactly is SID? We like to explain it this way: if you turned your building upside down, SID is everything that doesn’t fall out. From flooring and wall finishes to lighting, bathrooms, kitchens, joinery, and other built-in elements, SID covers the essential details that shape the foundation of your interior.
At this point, we focus on SID costs rather than furniture and furnishings. Why? Because these elements are critical to the build. By addressing them first, we ensure the structural design is both aligned with your vision and realistically within budget before moving forward.
This stage is about much more than reviewing numbers — it’s about clarity, excitement, and confidence. Seeing the boards, touching samples, and walking through detailed drawings helps you visualise the finished design in a tangible way. It ensures that your expectations are not only met, but exceeded – and it lays the groundwork for a smooth transition into the next stage.
Step 7
Project Fulfilment
Project fulfilment is the stage where design intent becomes a built reality.
At SP Interiors, we work alongside your contractors and specialists, attending site regularly to collaborate and oversee the implementation of our designs. Unlike project managers, we are not responsible for directing the contractors — instead, our role is to ensure that the vision, details, and integrity of the design are fully realised throughout the build.
We attend site at all major stages of implementation: reviewing progress, answering questions, and addressing challenges as they arise. Every project encounters obstacles, but it is through open communication, mutual respect, and collaborative problem solving that solutions are found and opportunities for innovation are created.
This stage is rooted in partnership. We value the input of our team, clients, and contractors, cultivating an environment where every voice is heard and respected. By working together, we are able to transform complexity into clarity and deliver projects that embody excellence at every turn.
Step 8
SID Procurement
Behind every successful interior design project lies a vast amount of coordination.
There are hundreds of orders to be placed, tracked, and managed — from flooring and lighting to fixtures, finishes, and every specialist component in between. Each item has its place in the build schedule, and if one element is delayed or incomplete, it can impact the entire project.
Consider this: if flooring doesn’t arrive on site in time, construction grinds to a halt. If lights arrive without their transformers, electricians must return at a later date, pushing timelines further. And that’s before accounting for the all-too-common issues — items that arrive damaged, go missing in transit, or are supplied incorrectly. These problems happen daily on renovation projects, but at SP Interiors we take this stress away from you.
Our SID procurement process ensures that every interior element is scheduled, ordered, tracked, and checked from start to finish. We liaise with suppliers, coordinate with contractors, and resolve issues as they arise — no matter how small. By doing so, we safeguard the build programme, minimise costly delays, and maintain efficiency across the site.
There are an extraordinary number of moving parts in any construction project, but our expertise and streamlined systems bring order to the complexity. With SP Interiors managing procurement, you can feel confident that every detail is handled with diligence and care, keeping your project on track and your vision firmly in focus.
Step 9
F,F&E
Furniture, furnishings, and accessories that bring warmth, personality, and life to your interiors.
At SP Interiors, we carefully schedule this phase later in the journey, once the build is progressing and the spaces are beginning to take shape. This timing allows you to better visualise how each room will feel, and ensures our selections are perfectly attuned to the finished environment.
Our process begins with a simple client check-in, reviewing our sourcing list and budget allocations together. We build on the initial selections we introduced back in Stage Four, revisiting, refining, and adding the final layers of design. From there, we create updated design boards and present curated samples, along with full costs, so you can clearly see how everything comes together.
To safeguard your investment and streamline installation, we advise our clients to use a professional receiver. This ensures that all furniture and accessories are stored, checked, and consolidated off-site, ready to be delivered in one coordinated moment. By doing this, we avoid piecemeal deliveries, reduce risk of damage, and create a seamless installation experience.

Step 10
Installation & Styling
The final step of the journey is where everything comes together — the transformation from design vision to lived reality.
At this stage, SP Interiors schedules the delivery of all furniture, furnishings, and accessories to site. Wherever possible, we prefer to use a professional receiver so that every item arrives together, carefully checked and protected, minimising the risk of damage during the build.
Once everything is in place, we install the full scheme — from furniture and window treatments to artwork, accessories, and finishing details. Whether it’s a home or commercial environment, we carefully style each space so that it feels intentional, cohesive, and complete. Every cushion is plumped, every piece of art is hung, every surface thoughtfully dressed, and every detail aligned with the design vision.
This stage is about more than logistics; it is about creating the emotional and functional impact of walking into a fully realised interior.
